ABOUT CLACKSON PARTNERS

DR. UTE CLACKSON is a native German speaker who speaks English and is a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering.  She has worked as a university researcher in engineering in Scotland, and in water and sewage management in Germany.  She worked for a medium-sized machine manufacturer in Swabia before becoming a freelance technical translator in 1996.  Ute is a German state-certified translator of English.  

DR. STEPHEN CLACKSON is a native English speaker who speaks German, is a Ph.D. in physics and has an M.Sc. degree in computer science.  He has worked as a university researcher in both education and physics, and was employed as a software engineer in Germany before moving into the provision of language services.  

We are partners in more than one sense:

• We married on the Isle of Iona, Scotland in April 1995.

• We started working together as a language services team, in Germany, in April 1998.

• We founded CLACKSON PARTNERS, on the Isle of Sanday, Orkney, on the 1st January 2001.
